【摘要】:ThereactivityandinstabilityofO3precludesthestorageofO3concentrationstandardsforanypracticallengthoftime,andprecludesdirectcertificationofO3concentrationsasSRM''s.Moreover,thereisnoavailableSRMthatcanbereadilyanddirectlyadaptedtothegenerationofO3standardsanalogoustopermeationdevicesandstandardgascylindersforsulfurdioxideandnitrogenoxides.DynamicgenerationofO3concentrationsisrelativelyeasywithasourceofultraviolet(UV)radiation.However,accuratelycertifyinganO3concentrationasaprimarystandardrequiresassayoftheconcentrationbyacomprehensivelyspecifiedanalyticalprocedure,whichmustbeperformedeverytimeastandardisneeded.TheprimaryUVstandardphotometers,whichareusuallyusedatafixedlocationundercontrolledconditions,areusedtocertifytransferstandardsthatarethentransportedtothefieldsiteswheretheambientozonemonitorsarebeingused.SeePracticeD5110.Theadvantagesofthisprocedureare:AllO3monitorsinagivennetworkorregionmaybetracedtoasingleprimarystandard.Theprimarystandardisusedatonlyonelocation,undercontrolledconditions.Transferstandardsaremoreruggedandmoreeasilyportablethanprimarystandards.Transferstandardsmaybeusedtointercomparevariousprimarystandards.1.1Thesepracticesdescribemeansforcalibratingambient,workplaceorindoorozonemonitors,usingtransferstandards.1.2Thesepracticesdescribefivetypesoftransferstandards:(A)Analyticalinstruments(B)Boricacidpotassiumiodide(BAKI)manualanalyticalprocedure(C)Gasphasetitrationwithexcessnitricoxide(D)Gasphasetitrationwithexcessozone(E)Ozonegeneratordevice.1.3Thesepracticesdescribeprocedurestoestablishtheauthorityoftransferstandards:qualification,certification,andperiodicrecertification.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SeeSection8forspecificprecautionarystatements.
