【摘要】:Becauseboroncanbebothessentialanddeleterioustoplantgrowth,andbecauseingestionoflargeamountscanaffectthecentralnervoussysteminhumans,amethodisrequiredtodetermineitsconcentrationinpotable,natural,andwastewaters.Thistestmethodprovidesameansofdeterminingtheboronconcentrationofthesewaters.TheholdingtimeforthesamplesmaybecalculatedinaccordancewithPracticeD4841.Boricacidisusedforchemicalshimcontrolofneutronfluxinanuclearreactor.Thistestmethodservestodetermineiftheboronconcentrationiswithinacceptablelimits.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofboroninwaterandwastewatersbythecurcumincolorimetric-extractionmethodinconcentrationsbetween0.1and1.0mg/L.Therangecanbeextendedbydilutionofthesample.1.2Onlydissolvedboronisdetermined.Thistestmethodrequiresthatthewatersamplebefilteredthrougha0.45-x03BC;mmembranefilterbeforeanalysis.1.3Thistestmethodisacolorimetricmethodthatisverysensitivetolowconcentrationsofboroninwaterandrequiresarelativelysmallsamplevolumeforanalysis.1.4Precisionandbiaswereobtainedonnaturalandwastewaters.Itistheuser''sresponsibilitytoensurethevalidityofthistestmethodforwatersofuntestedmatrices.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
